Today, we have more tools than ever to capture our reality and shape it the way we want others to perceive it. Through the craft of film, in particular, creators can manufacture rapidly-clickable, easily-consumable content, in an effort to foster relevance in today’s competitive attention economy.
This project dives into the unspoken truths of modern constructed reality phenomena, breaking the “fourth wall” of travel and lifestyle videos that have become so popular. CLICKBAIT questions the responsibility of filmmakers to maintain authenticity; challenging us all to get in touch with the reasons we create.
Should viewers expect to see the complete truth? Can real things ever come from fake things? Only one thing is for sure: get clicked or die trying.
